01. What happens once I have assured you to go with your Quote?

Once you have made up your mind to go ahead with our Quotation, call the office and we shall book it for you. You will be sent a “Confirmation Letter” sketching all the details for you, and empowering you to know that you have a rigid booking for removal. Please scrutinize the details carefully and apprise the office if there is any change.

02. Is it possible to reschedule the Removal after It has been already booked?

Yes, you need to contact us to let us know that the date of Removal has been changed. 24 hours prior notice would be recommendable so that someone else can be booked into that time.

03. Will I be charged if I cancel my booking?

Absolutely no, you will not be charged however you need to still contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel so we can have the booking time available for others..

04. How soon can I make a booking?

Bookings can be made 2 to 3 months prior and up to 1-day before the removal date.  We recommend you to book your moving date 2 to 3 weeks in advance. However, don’t feel hesitant to call us on the day if your removing needs an urgent call.

05. What time will you arrive?

It is our customary policy to give you a call the day before and confirm our arrival time with you. Generally, we like to start loading at 8:00 am.

06. How long will it take?

Once the Quotation is given to you, our Public Relation Officer will explain how the Removal will take place and how long the Crew would take for the Removal task. 

Below is a list depicting the average time, our company takes in a standard move, however, it also varies depending on how occupied the property with items is.

  • Studio to one-bedroom apartment takes between 2-4 hours to pack.
  • Two bedroom house usually takes between 3-5 hours to pack.
  • Three bedroom house usually takes between 5-8 hours to pack.
  • Four bedroom house roughly between 8-12 hours to pack.
  • Five bedroom house approximately takes between 10-12 hours to pack.
07. What advice would you give when packing?
  • Fold your bedding and leave on beds ready for packing. If you wish and have chosen to have your packing done for you the packers will take your valuables straight from shelves and cabinets.
  • With our insurance regulations, removal companies will not carry inflammable.
  • Garden tools, lawnmower etc should be cleaned and left ready to be loaded.
  • Ensure that all food items are tightly sealed or packed.
  • Disconnect any fixtures and fittings you wish to take with you.
  • Retain all personal papers and documents before putting your items into storage.
  • Washing machines, dishwashers, fridges, freezers should all be disconnected on the day before your move.
08. How do you ensure top quality?

We have maintained long term customer relations with almost all our customers and this proves our quality is not compromised at any step during the move. We aim at providing the best services we possibly can to all our customers. 

09. Are there any items that you don’t move?

Firearms, flammable gasses and liquids, petrol, paints or poisonous and toxic substances.

10. Do I have to ensure that the parking is available for the moving truck?

Yes, it’s up to you to ensure that there is suitable access and parking for the moving truck at both pickup and delivery addresses to avoid any delays on the day of the move and to avoid potential parking fines. We advise you to contact your local council office to arrange permits if required. 

Please note that you will be responsible for payment of any tickets/fines if the Driver incurs a parking fine on the day as you have not provided adequate space as mentioned above.

11. What do we do when the removalists arrive at my house for the removal?

The CT Movers crew members will arrive in uniform, 2–4 men, all of which is previously agreed to with you. The Driver will introduce himself and you will be requested to sign a job sheet as confirmation of the start time.

The Driver will check the premises with you and apprises you if something has to be taken care of. Make sure you point out every item that needs special care or are fragile, these need to be packed in cartons separately.

Any items that have to remain on your property should be clearly identified and distinguished so they are not taken by mistake. We prefer these items to be placed together in another room.

Once all your items have been packed and loaded, it’s best for you to inspect your property to ensure that everything has been removed.

12. Can you move heavy items?

For years of experience, CT Movers have taken pride in the handling of your fragile and heavy items. Whether it is the moving of the piano to the concert or billiards table to the new residence, any musical instruments or gym pieces of equipment in the basement or in the garage, we can make it as smooth as possible. 

We can safely manoeuvre the heavy pieces through the right sized trolley and lift it into the truck with the help of a hydraulic hoist. We will secure the piano or billiard table in our truck for safe transportation.

13. Do I have to be there?

We always appreciate the presence of the Owner. If you cannot be there for the Removal, please appoint a representative who can inform the Crew of what needs to go where. We would always aspire to meet your requirements.

14. Can I pick my own boxes?

Yes, you can pack your own boxes and we will take all requisite care while moving them, however, the removalist will neither be responsible for any breakages nor these boxes be covered by our insurance.

15. How do I prepare my washing machine?

Please refer to the manufacturer’s instruction booklet concerning the transit of the washing machine. Still, if you are having any problem preparing your machine, let the office know and we confirm that this is done on Removal day.

16. Do you move plants?

Yes, we do move plants. The pots should be cleaned before loading them into the truck.

17. Can you move pets to the new house?

No, we do not transport pets. Ideally, pets travel best in your own car – best to use professional pet carriers.

18. If I am packing my own things and I get stuck, what do I do?

If you chose to pack your own boxes and now the time is running out, simply call the office and we can send assistance to pack the remainder for a small fee per carton.

19. What do I do if I cannot get access to my new property?

Please inform the office IMMEDIATELY. Your valuables can be stored at our company’s warehouse till you get into the new property. No fee is charged for keeping the goods in the warehouse.

20. How and when do I pay?

Once the delivery is done, our crew will come with the paperwork as to how you would like to pay for the account. We accept Visa/Mastercard, personal cheque, bank cheque, internet transfer or cash. Once the account is paid, you will be issued with a receipt.

21. What about Transit Insurance?

During transit, if you think that one or more of the items that we have moved has been damaged; note it on the job sheet BEFORE you sign it. This step will not be replaced by any other written or verbal step in the communication process. 

Pay your full moving cost as agreed. Upon receipt of your completed claim form, a customer representative will call you within 72 hours (business days) to acknowledge the claim and discuss.

22. If I am moving interstate, how do you do this?

For interstate removals, we generally start packing and preloading 1 or 2 days prior to delivery, depending upon the distance between. We do not pack bed, TV and Fridge or other essential items till the delivery date.

23. Do I require an estimate from my moving company?

The easiest way is to call CT Movers, our Public Relation office hours are usually from 08:00 to 06:00 Australian time, whilst relocation services operation is 24/7. Provide your details to the Public Relation Officer or fill the ‘Free Quotation’ form from our Website, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. This will also help us in estimating the amount of space your valuables need in the moving truck. 

Charges for the local move are calculated on an hourly basis. Our representatives are here to help you at every step of the Move, from getting quotes to the final finishing touches, just call and relax, allow us to take care of your move.

24. Can you disassemble and assemble furniture?

Yes, we can. The safest way to transport furniture which can be dismantled is to disassemble it for safety reasons whilst in transportation.

25. Can your company assist in taking out windows or remove doors if required?

Yes, we can arrange 1 or 2 crew members for the removal of the window. You have to consider a few extra costs that this may incur. Our team is experienced in removing windows and doors.

26. Does your moving company supply Packaging Materials and cardboard moving boxes?

Yes, we can supply a full range of Packaging Materials. All our removal boxes and moving supplies are brand new, assured fresh, best in quality, clean and bug-free.
